About Your EIA Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist

Since 2001, Carla Hoffman has been serving the hard of hearing of the Coastal Bend community. She has successfully helped many hearing-impaired and tinnitus patients reconnect back to their daily lives through the use of hearing instruments and aural rehabilitation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Management from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota and has earned hours toward her Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Carla is a Board-Certified Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist who has served the Coastal Bend Area for the past 18 years in the hearing healthcare industry. Her vast experience with hearing instrument manufacturers allows her to correctly program hearing instruments to work for her patients in their daily lives, which she considers to be both a science and an art. She often tells her patients that “while there is no best hearing instrument in the world, there is one that is best for each individual patient.”

Carla strongly cares about her local and professional community and has served on the Texas State Licensing Committee, the Texas Hearing Aid Association Board, the Board for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Executive Women International, Junior League, American Heart Association, Kiwanis, Aggie Moms, PTA, and is a past recipient of the Texas Hearing Aid Association Dispenser of the Year award.

Her passion is educating her community, helping those with hearing loss overcome their communication barriers, and her family. She loves to cook, fish, and enjoy all the amenities South Texas has to offer with Dan, her wonderful husband of over 20 years, and their four beautiful children. She also enjoys cheering on the Aggies as well as sports teams from her home state of Minnesota.

What is an Excellence In Audiology Certification?

In order to become certified by Excellence in Audiology, a provider is rigorously tested by a highly respected panel of examiners to demonstrate their auditory and cognitive knowledge, clinical skills, and judgment. Those who achieve certification have taken a major step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required to be a hearing health care specialist.
